Prescription Functions
Interaction Checks

Standard Interaction Check
PCScripts will perform interaction checks
in two different manners, a standard check and an aggressive interaction check
(AIC).
The standard check will compare
interactions listed in the prescribing information, med information, and sites
which report
interaction patients experience not listed
in the manufacture information. It will flag interactions once for a med vs.
med check
and will report them as possible
interactions.

Aggressive Interaction Check for same
patient
The AIC will take it further by taking
interaction items and expanding them as far as possible. For example, lets look
at
Abbokinase. It list that it may interact with
anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids, such as ibuprofen).
PCScripts will expand this by listing
each NSAIDS as a possible interaction
and allow the physician to determine which it may interact with.
Passwords can be required
to print Rx Prescription and/or Blanks

To print a Prescription for a medication
already in the database
Either Double Click the Med, or
Click on the med then on the right click
Print MED
Then Double Click on the Printer
Brand to Generic / Generic
to Brand

You can select to have a pop-up which
will show
the Generic for a Brand medication
selected
or Brand for a Generic selected. You can
easily hide or
show the conversion box
Scheduled Drugs

You will be alerted when a medication is
a Schedule I – V
drug. Generally refills are not allowed
on I and II but
in many states are allowed on the rest.
You can also
set PCS to only alert you the first time
on each med.
FDA/Safety Alerts

It is often hard to stay up on all
alerts from the
FDA and manufactures, so PCScripts will
attempt
To do this for you. As with the
Scheduled Drugs
alerts can be set to show on the first
time a med
is dispensed.
Monthly Printing

If meds are flagged as re-occurring, you
can preprint meds due,
With in a certain period of time, for
all patients
Edit Medication in patient
Database

If you require to edit a medication in a
patients database, you can either
click on the medication and to the right
select, Edit
or for more options you can right click
on the med and bring up the
above for to edit the medication
information.
Add a Medication

Show a medication not be in the
database,
you can add it manually if desired.
Upon completion you may also send
the new med to PCScripts to be added to
the
next update.
Watermarks/Security

Watermarks (WM) are available to
provided added protection
against Prescription duplication or
changing prescribed
medications. You can select to have a WM
that
matches the type med, one with the
Physicians Name, Patients
Name, or with PCScripts, or you may
design and add your own.
Dispense Reports

PCS will track all of the meds you
prescribe and how many of each medication
Issue/Lab Reports

PCS will track how many times a med is
prescribed for each patient and alert you when the established
Quantity is achieved. This way if a lab
is required, you will be able to set one up.
Patient Data Backup

PCS backs up patient data in three ways;
First Data is mirrored to a separate location each
write, Second Data is backed up during
the idle time of the computer to a set backup
location, Third Data can be backed up to
a DVD/CD-R daily for extra protection should your
hard drive or computer crash.
Handouts

Patient Handouts are available for many
conditions. Most of these handouts
are available in word .doc format for
you to edit as desired
Pill Viewer

You can select to have a small pill viewer
that will help
test your knowledge of tablets and
capsules.
It will show you a med for a set time
then
give you the name of the medication,
then
cycle to the next of over 5000 images.
You can also go more aggressive with a
larger
version of the pill viewer.

There are many more functions added to
PCScripts, so please download the demo version
and determine if PCScripts can meet your
prescribing needs.
