PCS Full Version Installation
PCScripts
is a very large program with over 165,000 files so the Full installation will
require some time. On a minimal computer the installation time is 65 Minutes,
so be prepared to let it run for a while. PCScripts
also comes on Two DVDs so you will be required to swap disk during the
installation.
To
start the installation process, insert Disk 1 (PCS Installation Disk).
If it does not auto-run, go to the drive with My Computer and run the
PCSSetup.exe. First you will go through the normal Intro and EULA Screen.

Next PCS will check your system and report information critical
to PCS’s performance. If multiple drives are detected, PCS will later address swapfiles and a data mirror on a separate drive.

Next you will select where PCS is to be installed and if
multiple drives are detected you can select a drive, other than the install
drive, to server as a mirror for patient data.

PCS will then check the install drive for file fragmentation and
recommend a defrag if needed. Keep in mind PCS
contains more than 165,000 files so a fragmented drive can slow thing down
greatly.

You will also need to select the file to install on the hard
drive, All for a Full install, partial if you do not desire all of the
capabilities PCS has to offer, or the installation of all files required to be
on the hard drive and the data files will be run form the DVD (This will be a
much slower process).
At the conclusion of the installation you may be asked to
install Acrobat Reader (if not already installed or a
older version) and an update to windows (XP or 2003) to enhance the CD-R backup
function of PCS.
